Tsjuder [Date of interview: May 06, 2002]
"Raping Christianity...Raping Christianity...I will rape you out of this world" Ratification from the grim black metal "Tsjuder".

Tsjuder was born in 1993 by Nag and Draugluin, two demons from hell, who brought you to hatred, deadliness and anti-Christ! Touch the devil inside Nag (bass&vocals) to know more about the satanic band name "Tsjuder"!.

first at all, how did the name 'Tsjuder' come about? What does it mean?
Nag | Tsjuder: Tsjuder was a people that lived in the north of Scandinavia for about 1000 years ago (not to be confused with the vikings). They were a brutal people, just murdering/slaughtering, stealing, raping, torturing, etc...They wore black letter, and used brutal weapons. All in all they were a brutal people, and this fits for a brutal band!.

About your members in Tsjuder have many changes, Blood gone with Gehenna and I read the news about problem of Anti-Christian, Arak Draconiiz out the band. In the present, what's your line-up? Do you think about members change that your problem effect with Tsjuder? especially the drum position?
Nag | Tsjuder: The line up today is: Nag - Bass & Vocals, Draugluin - Guitars, Jontho - Drums. I don't think all these changes have affected our music, since it's just me and Draugluin that make all the music. Well, yeah, the drums are different from which drummer we've used, but it's no problem.

What do you think about Jontho [from Raknarok] who replaced Anti-Christian?
Nag | Tsjuder: Anti-Christian is a very good drummer, and we thought it would be very hard to replace him. But Jontho is doing a great job, and it's no problem. They both have a little bit different style how they play. Jontho is doing much more blast beats than Anti-Christian. Jontho also fits perfectly into Tsjuder.

You use the computer drum machine on 'Ved Ferdens Ende', that's demo album. You don't have drummer, in that album,..Tsjuder have gigs or concerts? if have what are you solved this problem about drummer?
Nag | Tsjuder: Our first gig was in 1994, before the first demo. At that time there was a friend of us that helped us out on the drums, but he was never part of Tsjuder.

Nag, why you choose to sign with Drakkar Productions, I think that it's great true underground label, I heard that you contacted with Evil Horde Recs. from Brazil in the past?
Nag | Tsjuder: We were very close to sign to Evil Horde Records, but Drakkar offered us a better deal, and we choose them. It was a hard choice since we have great respect for both labels.

O.K. Let's talk about your new album 'Demonic Possession' that was released on April 2002, what the responses that you got from your fans?
Nag | Tsjuder: Unfortunately the album is not released yet because of some fucking delay. So the response we've got is from friends that got a CDR. All of them think it's very much better than "Kill for Satan", and I totally agree!

I think your debut album 'Kill for Satan' that's have great response from metalheads around the world and do you have any pressures for your new album 'Demonic Possession' such as many fans hope that it must be better from Kill for Satan?
Nag | Tsjuder: Well yes, but we make the music we like ourselves, and not for other people. The thing that concerned us the most was to have drums that was as good as Anti-Christian play at "KFS". I think people that like the old thrash and old school Black Metal will think "Demonic Possession" is much better than "KFS".

I don't listen your new album, please describe the musical transition between 'Kill for Satan' and 'Demonic Possession'?
Nag | Tsjuder: "KFS" have much death metal influences compared to "Demonic Possession". "Demonic Possession" is much more back to our demo tape "Possessed" and EP "Throne of the Goat", much more thrash influences than death. There are also more blast beats on "Demonic Possession" compared to "KFS" that had a lot of double beats.

I read your lyrics in "Kill for Satan" album. That's so fuckin cult normal deep meaning, How's the idea for lyrics?
Nag | Tsjuder: It depends who writes them of course. Personally I write about Demons, hatred and Darkness. I find these topics very close to myself, and I write what I think. The lyrics are of course also very anti religious.

In your first demo, you wrote lyric in Norwegian language? Why you change the lyrics to English language?
Nag | Tsjuder: When we started Tsjuder we had a lot of lyrics in Norwegian, but later changed to write in English. It was natural for us to write in Norwegian back then. On "Demonic Possession" there is one song written in Norwegian.

How about lyrics in Demonic Possession? what's about? And do you hide the message for the audience in you lyrics?
Nag | Tsjuder: All our lyrics are straight to the point, so we don't try to hide anything. The lyrics are about the same topics as always, demons, hatred, darkness, etc.

Nag, I know you also play in the 'ISVIND' band, how's going on with ISVIND? I tell the true, I never listened this band, have any new released album? and ISVIND's your project album?
Nag | Tsjuder: I played in Isvind from 95-97, so it's a while ago. What I've heard from Goblin, is that he's starting it up again, and they'll record a new demo or something soon.

What do you think about trend of black metal like the female voice/vocals and use keyboard?
Nag | Tsjuder: Pathetic, idiotic, ridiculous, fucked up, etc. It has NOTHING to do with Black Metal! Keyboard might be used correctly, like Marduk on "Dark Endless", but that's it!

I know you published 'Tartaros' Tales' fanzine, How's going on with it? It was written in Norwegian language? Besides, you worked in the band and published fanzine together, do you have time to do them or how do you manage your time?
Nag | Tsjuder: I released the first issue of Tartaros' Tales in 1996, and I've done a few interviews after that. I've now restarted the zine with a guy from Ireland. We'll print Tartaros' Tales # 2 this summer. It will include mostly old interviews of bands like Beherit, Darkthrone, Mayhem, Tormentor, etc. It's kind of a tribute to the early 90's. I manage it since I'm just making the zine when I have the time. Tsjuder is first priority.

Your lyrics, your image,..I think you worship Satanism, what the meaning of 'SATAN' in your opinion? What do you think about 'Dark Gnostics'?
Nag | Tsjuder: For me Satan is just a name for an opponent to light and good. I believe in demons, and this is where I use the term "Satan". If people would like to call this Satanism or not I really don't care.

Have you ever read the spelling book 'Necronomicon'? I knew that many black metal bands use and worship this book for idea of the band?
Nag | Tsjuder: Yes I have read this book, and I find it very fascinating. It's also a great source of inspiration for me!

Well, end of the interview, wanna say something to MetalThai readers?
Nag | Tsjuder: Thanx for supporting raw and brutal Black Metal by doing this interview with Tsjuder. Check out www.tsjuder.com for news, and check out our latest attack "Demonic Possession"
Unholy blessings!
