Well, first at all, please introduce yourself to Thailand.
Voldamares | Eclipse Eternal: Hail Thailand, I am Voldamares, the vokillist and founding member of Canadian Black Metal band Eclipse Eternal.

How's the metal scene in Toronto, Canada?
Voldamares | Eclipse Eternal: The metal scene here in Toronto is currently focused more on mainstream bands than extreme ones but there are always the deadicated few who make it all worthwhile. We would play for ourselves if we had to. Black metal is life Black metal till death.

I read your promotion note that quoted the words of Fredrik Nordstrom that said "...It's raw and dirty and they have the old school black metal attitude...I haven't heard or seen a band like Eclipse Eternal in a long time. They're very real and very serious about black metal..." What do you think why he thought of your band like that?
Voldamares | Eclipse Eternal: From what I hear, he witnessed a video of us playing live. We are an experience. True belief is always powerful to behold. This gave him the correct impression. We are raw emotion, dirty as fuck and we do have that go fuck yourself if you don't like us attitude. We are extremely deadicated to our craft and I think it shows. Also, Fredrik mixed our album so I'm sure he got an impression from that as well. Our music is quite intense and leaves a lasting impression.

What do you think about the black metal band who wear the corpse paint and the band who wear nothing? And what's the purpose of the corpse paint into the black metal music?
Voldamares | Eclipse Eternal: Black metal is about ugliness and the creation of fear and disgust. Corpsepaint is just one method of creating that feeling. We put it on as a ritual to remove the human in us and to replace it with what we truly are inside. What you see of us onstage is who we are inside. It is the truth unmasked. We have no problem with others not following suit but I find bands that do go through this ritual tend to have more belief in what they represent than those who do not.

I knew your band by reading the review of the "Reign of the unholy blackened Empire", the debut first full-length album in 2005. I think you got the good responded from the reviewer around the world. What are you expect on the new album "Ubermensch:Evolution Beyond The Species" that released in 2008?

Voldamares | Eclipse Eternal: Our previous album was indeed well received by many reviewers but truth is we were quite new to the recording process and if we recorded that album now it would be totally different. This new album is a much more mature forward thinking beast. It also has more to say and our believes are more well represented. Our previous album was more symphonic and melodic while this album is far more about disturbing atmospheres and raw belief. The faster songs are faster, the slow songs are more disturbing and the overall production is more in tune with what we wanted. Those who hear "Ubermensch:Evolution Beyond The Species" will remember it is as being unique in a genre where there is an overabundance of mediocrity.

Can you explain the music of Eclipse Eternal to the metalheads who never heard your music before?

Voldamares | Eclipse Eternal: Truth is, I cannot explain what we sound like as I personally believe we are quite unique. Yes we have fast songs with blast beats, slow songs that make you want to slit your wrists and songs that revolve around themes of Nihilism, Nietzsche, Paganism and the Chaos theory but the way we do them is very different than most other bands. Yes we consider ourselves a Black Metal band but we do not put limits on our music. True evil knows no boundaries. In order to give the uninitiated an idea as to what music influences us (and therefore what music we may sound somewhat akin to) I will list a few. The following have had a great influence upon us: Dawn, Satyricon, Emperor, Enslaved, Gorgoroth, Immortal, Chopin, Mozart, Beethoven, Wagner

Well, nowadays, tons of black metal bands around the world, maybe play in the same rhythm, style and hard to find the uniqueness. What's your idea to bring something inside the hymn of Eclipse Eternal distinguish from the other black metal bands around the world?

Voldamares | Eclipse Eternal: There are plenty of black metal bands around the world but few like us that have true belief in what they do and are trying to push the boundaries of the music. Belief and deadication to our craft will set us apart from the crowd. Every song we create is a completely separate entity that will give the listener a chance to see different facets of our beliefs and who we are. The lyrics are written about topics not typical to black metal yet fit with our ideal of what black metal should be. Our music is constantly evolving and while many others attempt to rehash the glories of the past we march forward striving for a darker future. Those who want the deadication of the past conquerors but want to hear something new and powerful will come to us.

I read your latest news about your bassist "Rose Sodomy" left the band, now the new bassist come? And if Eclipse Eternal has to play live during this time, how do you solve this problem?
Voldamares | Eclipse Eternal: It is always unfortunately when you lose a comrade but we have since added a new one. Our new bassist is Orcus. We are honored to have him amongst us.

What is 'Eclipse Eternal' plans? Touring Soon? Where and with whom?

Voldamares | Eclipse Eternal: Currently we are practicing with our new bassist and writing new hymns. We will be doing more shows in the near future. Unfortunately they are not easy to come by as we are too extreme to be added to most bills, but we will persevere.
