Destinity, symphonic black/death metal from France, they just released the new album with PSYCHIC SCREAM. Let's get to know with this band by the answers from Mick, one of the war black metaller of Destinity!

First at all, introduce yourselves to Thailand...
MICK & DESTINITY: Well, we are DESTINITY from France. We play a symphonic Black Metal. The line-up is the same since March 2000 : MORTEUS (Keyboards and clean vocals), ZEPHIROS (Guitars), JIM (Guitars), BENN (Bass), CHRIS (Drums) and myself MICK (Brutal Vocals).

I don't know about your information of you band more, man. I just received the flyer. So, please tell me more about your band.
MICK & DESTINITY: DESTINITY was created in July 1996 by MORTEÜS, ZEPHIROS and Me (MICK). Also others members arrived to complete the band. We live near LYON in FRANCE and we are best friends of the fucking world! DESTINITY is a family. Our blood is the same ! We are ONE PERSON! At the beginning DESTINITY plays a melodic DEATH/BLACK METAL but this last album intitled "SUPREME DOMINATION'S ART" is a symphonic BLACK METAL Album with many others kind as DEATH & HEAVY METAL touches or DARK & GOTHIC ambiences.

How's your life there?
MICK & DESTINITY: Some members of DESTINITY are students and others have little jobs but our real job is the promotion of our band !All evenings we meet us and we send answers, news, interviews to Fans, Zines & Mags throughout the world.

Where you all did met?
MICK & DESTINITY: I was a very good friend with MORTEÜS & ZEPHIROS (2 brothers). We decided in 1996 to create a band. I met CHRIS in a feast of a friend and they asked me if it is possible to play with us, he was a fan! We met JIM in our first shows,

he played during 3 years in a Brutal Death Metal Band called VOCIFER (RIP) but he looked for a Black Metal Band. So, he arrived in DESTINITY in January 1999.He plays gutar with a big Death Metal touch. The last members is BENN, he was the best friend of CHRIS. We looked for a bass player because NINO (our old Bass player) wanted to stop music ! BENN was the good persons with a big technique. He is Bass teacher.

Please tell us about the local scene (death/black metal) in your city?
MICK & DESTINITY: In LYON there is a lot of Metal bands. We have an important concerts organizer who let plays the local scene. The best bands are KEMET (Dark Metal) and BLACKNESS (Trash/Death). We are the only BLACK METAL BAND but tje best in France is ANOREXIA NERVOSA (Orchestral BLACK).

What do you all do aside from 'Destinity' ? Other bands? Wage slave fucking job? Hobbies?
MICK & DESTINITY: NO !!! In a first time I want to say that we play music for ourselves. Actually, DESTINITY has a good Promotion and sells with PSYCHIC SCREAM and IMPERIUM AGENCY but it isn't possible! We must working to buy a good material. Our only hobby is DESTINITY and all the work of promotion.

Many metalheads here thought your band got the influences from Cradle Of Filth, What do you think about it? What bands were your main influences starting out?
MICK & DESTINITY: Well, THANKS because CRADLE OF FILTH is a very famous band with a music very technical but I don't think it is the same music. We can say that we are influenced by the OLD CRADLE OF FILTH (Vampire, Dusk and her Embrace) & HECATE ENTHRONED, it is right! Our music is more aggressive and we have a DEATH METAL touch.

You know, I think your voice that have many tones, have sound just the way in Black metal, and clean vocal and Brutal Death metal mixed into your songs. Who's design of the voice? How the idea is came from?
MICK & DESTINITY: THANKS A LOT because I am the vocalist! I try with the help of MORTEUS to mix many kinds of vocals, (Clean voices, Black metal voices and Death metal voices). I am a fan of his clean voices! We think since the beginning it is more interesting and aggressive that is why we used them!

How did the name 'Destinity' come from?
MICK & DESTINITY: DESTINITY means two words : DESTINY and tee. It is a long story with no end ! IN first we would have a name which speaks about Destinity but DESTINY is a famous Heavy Metal Band in Europe.

Tell me about your first demo in 98 'Enigmatic Forest Demo'98'. How about the response that you got from that demo?
MICK & DESTINITY: Enigmatic Forest is the first demo tape of DESTINITY. This first demo tape was released in 1997 and it was a melodic DEATH/BLACK Metal. We discontinue sells because the future songs was more developed. It was the beginning of our band. After we can played many shows. Chronicles was very good.

Describe the musical transition between 'Wepts from the sky CD'99' and 'Supreme Domination's Art?
MICK & DESTINITY: "WEPTS FROM THE SKY" is a Mid-Tempo album with more Dark and Melancholic ways. "SUPREME DOMINATION'S ART" is more agressive & developped and the sound is very good.We recorded it during 10 days in a famous French studio.

What's the meaning behind 'Supreme Domination's Art?
MICK & DESTINITY: The meaning behind "SUPREME..." is our idea and our explication about the life and death and the dark domination from the realm of night.

Talk about lyric of 'Supreme Domination's Art' album, what the inspiration to write yours songs? What the influence on your lyrics?
MICK & DESTINITY: Lyrics wrote in English and French. It is different subjects about the Death. All ideas come from our sickly souls ! I prefer used the French to write Lyrics which are poetic. Our lyrics are a black Prophecy, a black Romancy. We explain different fears, fantasms and glory into the death. I want to tell to listeners and to Metalfans : KEEP YOUR FAITH AND STAY DARK ! LISTEN DESTINITY !!!

Tell me about the cover art for the 'Supreme Domination's Art?
MICK & DESTINITY: If you look this beautiful cover you can look differents monsters, Evils, hidden in the sky who represents the Domination of the hunted realm. We tried to realized a cover with all this ideas. I must say thanks to PSYCHIC SCREAM and SINERGY for their work.

Are you guys faith in what? Believed in what?
MICK & DESTINITY: We believed in us! We vomit on this fucking world and on this humanity! We hate and fuck all systems. We respect persons who believed and respect us. We are attracted by the darkness.

What metal bands have you toured and play with? What's band that you wanna tour/play with?
MICK & DESTINITY: We played with bands as ROTTING CHRIST (GR), ANOREXIA NERVOSA (FR), IMPIETY (SING), ABIGAIL (JAP), DECAYED (POR), KEMET (FR), BENIGHTED (FR), BLACKNESS (FR), CHRYSTALIUM (FR), INFERNAL POETRY (I), RAIN (S). It would be very good if we can play with EMPEROR but it would be very difficult.

What are Destinity's plans in the future? Touring soon? Where and with whom?
MICK & DESTINITY: We have a french tour in November 2001 with BENIGHTED and AURA NOIRE and we will record our new album in January 2002. We have differents options for the producer but we are thinking...Our new songs are more agressive and orchestral than ever. Now, we are influenced by EMPEROR, LIMBONIC ART, SETHERIAL and NOCTURNAL MORTUM. Our music is very developped that is why we will record this album during 3 weeks. We will have an album destroying all others bands in the same kinds !!! We hope we will can do our Asian tour in July 2002. But actually we don't know. We hope PSE will can help us. What's the highlight in your live show in 'Destinity'? What's the audiences feel participate with your band?
MICK & DESTINITY: The highlight live show was the 31/10/2000 at GRENOBLE with ROTTING CHRIST, IMPIETY & ABIGAIL. More than 200 metalfans. The second live show was the 10/04/2001 at LYON with KEMET, CHRYSTALIUM and HYSTERIA, More than 250 Metalfans. Many fans bought our marchandising. We drunk a lot with many people.
